The Sanjay Memorial Institute of Technology, Degree Engineering College Berhampur has been set up in the year 1997 on a green patch of land in 17 kms near the city of Berhampur. The college has been set up by Sanjay memorial Institute of Technology, Society Berhampur which have credited of having vast experience in establishing and managing Engineering & Management Colleges in the State of Orissa. The college has been approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and also affiliated to BPUT, Rourkela. The college has outstanding infrastructure and laboratories with artisan design and equipped with latest technological equipments and instruments. |

| As per the guidelines of State Government candidates seeking admission should have qualified Orissa JEE or AIEEE rank conducted by CBSE, New Delhi or any other entrance test prescribed by Govt. of Orissa. |

| Admission to 1st year Degree Course in Engineering/Technology |
| Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE or equivalent, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects : Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology. Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together. |

| Admission to 2nd Year Degree Course in Engineering/Technology ( LATERAL ENTRY ) |
| Additional 10% of each stream in B. Tech course is reserved for students passing out 10 + 3 and diploma course in respective branches. |
